WC Summer Champs 2018 – Day 3 Result

Eventhough Braeburn swimmers haven’t hit the proverbial golden pot, they are earning points for BRAEBURN SCHOOL – as they compete in the FINALS and TIMED FINALS.

Braeburn Swimming Team is currently at 17th Place with 79 points. Point contributors are Risha with 45, Neema with 18, Dale with 9, Rachel with 4 and Rowena with 3 points.

No automatic alt text available.

Due to rain and cold weather, the Braeburn swimmers have limited and missed crucial trainings as these factors affect their performance in this gala. If only a HEATER is available, a different outcome would happen – as they would be in the medal podium.

The effects of these adverse weather (which could have been prevented with the presence of HEATER) is showing in the performance of Risha, Rowena, Dale and Rachel – as they compete in the FINALS but only losing at the end.

Competing with swimmers in Western Cape – who have access to heated pool thereby training twice a day, year-round – is a daunting task.

Hope BRAEBURN SCHOOL could support and facilitate access to HEATED POOL – as the weather now in Nairobi is unpredictable and constantly changing.

This must happen NOW to support the training of upcoming swimmers like Neema, Ameya and Mariasera – who are home-grown Kenyan talents. Braeburn should not let them lose their interest in swimming – because of a cold and dirty pool.
